Your Frequently Asked Questions

Making a Booking

What dates are you open?
In 2024 Eweleaze Farm will be open for 6 weeks from Monday 15th July through to the 26th of August, and Shortlake Farm will be open for 4 weeks 29th July to 26th August.

When do bookings open?
Our Booking Centre will open from the first week of January

How do I book?
All bookings are taken online at the Booking Centre
A deposit (10-15%) is taken immediately.  The balance is due 2 weeks before arrival.

Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are taken upon booking, and they are non-refundable.

What are the camping fees?
We charge per person, per vehicle and per dog.  We don’t charge for tents or anything else.
Our current fees are HERE

What ages are children and infants?
Children are 3-14 inclusive, and infants are from 0-2 inclusive.

Why does it show a pitch fee of £0.00 on my booking?
We don’t charge for tents

Can I book for just one night/do you have a minimum stay length?
We have no minimum length of stay here, so you are welcome to stay for one night or the whole time that we are open if you wish!

I’m not sure how to see the availability
Go to the chosen site on the Booking Centre and click the Show Availability button.
The pop-up window may take up to a minute to load at certain times.
The pop-up shows tent camping availability in the first column, and all the bell tents after that.
Don’t try to click on the pop-up – you can’t :-)
Also, the pop-up doesn’t really work properly on Apple/Safari (working on it!).  Try using Chrome.
Choose camping dates and/or bell tents from the pop-up and select them on the booking form.

The availability says dates are available, but when I try to book they are full
Generally this is because there are only a couple of spaces left, and the number in your party exceeds this.

We want to bring more than one tent.  How do I enter this on the booking form?
For tent camping we do not have any set pitches, so all you need to do is book in the correct number of people and cars, and you are then welcome to bring as many tents as you need.

How can I choose which field to camp in?
We don’t allocate pitches, so you choose where you pitch when you arrive (except bell tents which are in fixed locations)

There is a large party of us.  Should we all book on the same booking?
Either.  Either make one booking for the whole party, or individual bookings for the separate groups.  It makes no difference to where you will camp as you choose your pitches on arrival (except bell tents).

Advice: some people prefer to have one booking for their whole party, so they can herd them and organise them.  That person will need to pay the balance and get the dues off the different groups.
Others prefer to let the different groups make and manage their own bookings.  This can be simpler but risks groups forgetting to book or forgetting to pay their balances.

There are more than 6 groups in our party, and we can’t fit them all onto the booking form.
Make a second booking for the extras. It makes no difference to where you will camp as you choose your pitches on arrival (except bell tents).

How do I make sure that I am pitched with the rest of my party/do we allocate pitches?
For tent camping we do not have any set pitches, so all you need to do is make a booking for everyone in your party, and when you arrive you decide where you would like to pitch.
If one group in your party has booked a bell tent, then others would need to camp near them.

Some of our group would like to book bell tents and the others would like to book camping - can we do this and still camp together?
Yes, bell tents are in set locations, so when you book one you are booking a specific place on the site. Others in the group with normal tents can pitch near the bell tents (subject to space and being mindful of neighbouring bell tents so as not block their view).  We would recommend that you have a look at our map to see where the bell tent is located before booking.

How do I see where the bell tents are located?
The location of our bell tents can be found HERE
Also the Availability pop-up on the booking form includes location maps and a link to a description page

Can I book bell tents and normal tents on the same booking form?
Bell tents and tent camping can be booked on the same form. All you need to do is enter the car registration for each vehicle, and then select either tent camping or your chosen bell tent from the ‘Select Accommodation’ drop down box.

Can more than 4 guests stay in a bell tent?
We only supply enough beds & bedding* for up to 4 guests per bell tent. Should you wish to have more than 4 guests stay in a bell tent, you are more than welcome to, but you will need to bring your own beds/bedding for them. To add extra guests on, please just book them in for general tent camping under a separate group, and they are then welcome to stay in the bell tent.
*Bedding is supplied with the luxury package and with the Classic package upgrade option.

I do not know my car registration - can I book without one?
If you do not know your car registration when making your booking, please just enter ‘CARTBC’ into the vehicle registration box. The car registration can then be amended later.
Note that an incorrect registration will lead to delays at check-in when you arrive.

I’m not bringing a car but the system wants to charge me.
Type ‘NoVehicle’ into the vehicle registration field and you won’t be charged for a vehicle.  Note that if you do end up bringing a vehicle the entrance barriers won’t let you in until it’s paid for.

How do I add more than one car onto my booking, even though I am bringing one tent?
To add an extra car onto your booking, you will need to add a new group. Please enter all car registrations in the party as separate groups by vehicle (group/vehicle 1, group/vehicle 2 etc up to 6). You will then need to split the people across the groups, so each group has a driver.

Amending a Booking

I made my booking, but I didn’t receive a confirmation email.
Please contact the office and we will check out why you didn’t receive it and forward your confirmation email on to you

Can I change my dates/numbers of people?
Yes absolutely – you will need your booking reference which starts EW or SL.
Go to the Booking Centre where you made the booking and choose the ‘Amend Booking’ tab at the top.  Enter your booking reference to open and edit your booking.
Remember to Submit and then Save your booking.  You will receive a confirmation email for the updated booking.

Can I add more guests to my booking even though the dates are showing as fully booked?
We try to accommodate this where possible. Give us a call and we will see if we can do anything.
The availability is shown in real time, so as others change or cancel their bookings, dates can become available

I can’t get through on the phone
We get extremely busy on the phones just before the start of the season.  If you send an email it will get read and actioned.  Or please keep trying.  To keep things simple we don’t have voicemail.

If I book Shortlake, and Eweleaze then becomes available, or vice versa, can I swap over my booking?
Yes absolutely. Please just give us a call or send us an email and we will be happy to assist.
To speed things up please make a new booking for the preferred site and pay a new deposit; we will then transfer your booked dates and add all the money onto the new booking (send us both old and new booking references in an email).

Paying your Balance

When do I need to pay the balance?
The balance MUST be paid at least 2 weeks before your arrival or the booking will auto cancel.
We don’t store card details so we can’t do this automatically for you.
We suggest writing a calendar reminder.

How do I pay the balance?
You can pay the balance at any time on the Booking Centre where you made the booking.
You will need your booking reference which starts EW or SL.
Choose the option at the top ‘Pay Balance’

My booking has cancelled because I missed the payment deadline - can I rebook?
Please give us a call or send us an email and we will be happy to reinstate your booking subject to availability. This will not normally be an issue with tent camping, however the reserved bell tents will automatically go back onto the booking system, so there is a chance that they will get booked up and you will lose your booking. Please give us a call as soon as possible if you miss the deadline.

I can’t get through on the phone
We get extremely busy on the phones just before the start of the season.  If you send an email it will get read and actioned.  Or please keep trying.  (To keep things simple we don’t have voicemail).

Go to the Booking Centre where you made the booking and choose the ‘Amend Booking’ tab at the top (you will need your booking reference which starts EW or SL)

We are working on an option to allow car reg editing up to the day before arrival – check the Booking Centre to see if it’s available.

Cancelling a Booking

I have paid my deposit but can no longer make my booking, how do I cancel it?
Please drop us an email to let us know and we will cancel it for you.  The deposit is non-refundable.
If you do change your mind at any time before the season it can be reinstated subject to availability.

Can I do nothing and let it cancel?
Yes that’s fine.  The system will send you reminder emails for a week then give up and cancel it.

I can no longer make my booking, can I give it to a friend?
Yes absolutely. Go to the Booking Centre where you made the booking and choose the ‘Amend Booking’ tab at the top.  Enter your booking reference to open and edit your booking.  Change your details to their details and save the booking.  Please make sure your friend has read the T&Cs.

I have paid the Balance but I now wish to cancel.
Balances are not refundable within 2 weeks of arrival.  If you cancel before this point we will refund the balance, but we must have this request by email dated before the deadline and not by phone.

Bell Tent Hire

What is included in the different packages?
We have two different bell tent options: Classic & Luxury. A full list of what is included in each bell tent package can be found HERE
In brief, the Standard tent is just a tent, the Classic adds carpets and mattresses, and the Luxury adds full bedding, fire pit, chairs, fairy lights and other things.

Can more than 4 guests stay in a bell tent?
We only supply enough beds & bedding* for up to 4 guests per bell tent. Should you wish to have more than 4 guests stay in a bell tent, you are more than welcome to, but you will need to bring your own beds/bedding for them. Can I park my car next to our bell tent?
You are welcome to park your car next to your bell tent in most fields.
Point Field and Beach Field are ‘No Vehicle’ fields so you are unable to keep your car next to your tent in these fields. You are however very welcome to drive to your tent on arrival to unload your belongings.
The bell tents at Higher Eweleaze and Eweleaze View have restricted parking so you will need to keep your car in the field below these tents.

Am I allowed to bring a campervan?
